Ayurvedic Oils for Skin Recovery – Soothe, Restore & Glow

Summer is a beautiful time to enjoy sunshine, longer days, and the energy of the outdoors—but for your skin, it can also bring challenges. Sun exposure, heat, dryness, and environmental stressors can leave your skin feeling depleted, irritated, or uneven. Ayurveda offers a powerful, natural remedy: nourishing oils that soothe and repair from the outside in.

At Holistic Essentials, we believe your skin deserves the same care and wisdom that nourishes your entire being. That’s why we’ve curated our July campaign around Ayurvedic Skin Recovery Oils—nature’s answer to post-sun restoration.

The Power of Ayurvedic Oils

Ayurveda has long revered oiling (known as Abhyanga) as a daily ritual of nourishment and renewal. When applied to the skin, the right oils can calm inflammation, replenish lost moisture, and support natural healing processes. The secret lies in their synergy of herbal infusions and cold-pressed bases like sesame and ghee.

Our three hero oils for July are:

Jatyadee Oil – The Skin Healer

Traditionally used for soothing irritated, inflamed, or sunburnt skin, Jatyadee Oil is a classic Ayurvedic formula featuring Jatamansi and Neem. Its calming properties help reduce redness, relieve itchiness, and support skin regeneration.

Use it when:

  • Skin feels dry or sensitive after sun exposure
  • You notice redness, rashes, or minor burns
  • You want to calm and cool the skin at night

Manjistha Oil – The Detoxifier

Manjistha (Rubia cordifolia) is known in Ayurveda as a powerful blood purifier and skin rejuvenator. When infused into oil, it becomes a topical ally for blemish-prone, congested, or overheated skin.

Use it when:

  • You're breaking out from summer heat or clogged pores
  • You want to even skin tone or improve complexion
  • You feel a need for deep skin detox after a long week outdoors

Manjistha is also available in capsules and powder, making it a versatile herb for inside-out skincare.

How to Use Manjistha Powder with Cold-Pressed Sesame Oil for Glowing, Balanced Skin

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Manjistha powder (organic)
  • 3–4 tbsp cold-pressed sesame oil

How To Prepare

  • Combine the Manjistha powder and sesame oil in a small heat-safe bowl or glass jar.
  • Warm gently using one of the following:
  • Place the bowl in a pot of hot water (double boiler style).
Or microwave for 10–15 seconds, just until lukewarm.
  • Stir well to create a smooth, reddish oil infusion.

Tip: The oil should be warm to the touch, not hot.

Organic Ghee – Nourishment from Within

Though not an oil in the traditional sense, ghee (clarified butter) is one of Ayurveda’s most revered internal moisturisers. Rich in essential fatty acids and cooling properties, it hydrates the skin from within and supports digestion—both vital for a healthy glow.

Use it when:

  • Your skin feels dry no matter how much you moisturise
  • You want to reduce internal heat (Pitta imbalance)
  • You’re looking to support radiant skin through your diet

How to Use Ayurvedic Oils for Best Results

  1. Apply after a lukewarm shower when pores are open and receptive.
  2. Massage gently in circular motions, allowing the oil to absorb into the skin.
  3. Leave on overnight for deeper healing or rinse after 20–30 minutes if preferred.
  4. Pair with internal rituals like ghee or herbal teas for holistic effect.

The Ritual is the Remedy

In Ayurveda, healing isn't just about ingredients—it's about intention. When you take the time to lovingly oil your skin, you signal your body to slow down, restore, and return to balance. The result? A calmer mind, radiant complexion, and resilient spirit.

This month, rediscover the beauty of mindful self-care. Explore our Jatyadee Oil, Manjistha range, and Organic Ghee as part of your Ayurvedic summer skin ritual.
